Vocabulario básico en inglés que debes conocer: los números en inglés

Aprender cómo se dicen los números en inglés es una de las bases para comenzar a dominar el idioma. En este post, Konversen, tu academia de inglés en Logroño, te explica cómo se dicen y forman todos los números, tanto ordinales como cardinales. Empezaremos por lo más sencillo e iremos evolucionando hacia conceptos más complejos. Para finalizar, te proponemos unos ejercicios de autoevaluación.

Vocabulario básico en inglés acerca de los Números – Numbers

Del 1 al 10

1. One
2. Two
3. Three
4. Four
5. Five
6. Six
7. Seven
8. Eight
9. Nine
10. Ten

Del 10 al 20 10. Ten 11. Eleven 12. Twelve

A partir del número 13, la formación de los números es regular. Con algunas excepciones, se trata del Número + teen.

• 13 – Thirteen
• 14 – Fourteen
• 15 – Fifteen
• 16 – Sixteen
• 17 – Seventeen
• 18 – Eighteen
• 19 – Nineteen

Lo mismo sucede con los números redondos, como 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. Con algunas excepciones, se forman con Número + ty.

• 20 – Twenty
• 30 – Thirty
• 40 – Forty
• 50 – Fifty
• 60 – Sixty
• 70 – Seventy
• 80 – Eighty
• 90 – Ninety

Aquí tienes una tabla con todos los números del 1 al 100.

Para seguir formando números después del 100, solo es cuestión de combinar:

• 101 – One hundred (and) one
• 110 – One hundred (and) ten
• 125 – One hundred (and) twenty-five
• 163 – One hundred (and) sixty-three

Y los siguientes centenares, siguiendo el mismo modelo:

• 200 – Two hundred
• 300 – Three hundred
• 400 – Four hundred
• 650 – Six hundred (and) fifty
• 782 – Seven hundred (and) eighty-two

Y ahora llegamos a 1000 = Thousand Nota: En inglés, el punto y la coma se utilizan a la inversa que en español:

• Español = 1.000 / Inglés = 1,000
• Español = 2,50 € / Inglés = 2.50€
• 1,000 – One thousand
• 2,000 – Two thousand
• 3,510 – Three thousand, five hundred and ten
• 1,000,000 – One million
• 4,650,000 – Four million, six hundred fifty thousand

Una vez hemos visto los números cardinales, echemos un vistazo a cómo se escriben los números ordinales en inglés.

1. 1st – The first
2. 2nd – The second
3. 3rd – The third

A partir de ahí, los demás se forman añadiendo -th al número, con algunas excepciones:
